Best-Ever Slow Cooker Mac n' Cheese
(serves 6-8)
I'm all about cooking with my cast iron dishes, but I'm also not opposed to putting the slow-cooker to use when I'm short on time. This recipe is one of my favorites to use when cooking for a party. I've used it at my son's first birthday party and more recently at his Trash Bash (a garbage truck-themed 2nd birthday party) Its easy prep and delicious end result make it a win-win!
1 lb macaroni noodles, uncooked
1/4 c. butter, cubed
4 oz. processed cheese product (like Velveeta), cubed
4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
3 1/4 c. whole milk
3/4 c. heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- Spray slow-cooker with cooking spray.
- Add macaroni noodles. Top with butter and cheeses.
- In a mixing bowl, combine milk, cream, salt, paprika, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir until combined and pour over cheese and noodles in slow-cooker.
- Cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours on low, stirring halfway through.
Enjoy!
