Stovetop Mac N' Cheese

I have a plethora of delicious mac n' cheese recipes, but this is one of my favorites.  It's quick, easy, and oh so good!



Stovetop Mac N' Cheese
(serves 8-10)

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup flour
3 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 cups shredded cheese ( used a combination of Italian and cheddar)
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1 (16 oz) package large macaroni noodles, cooked
1 Tablespoon chopped parsley
1 Tablespoon chopped tarragon
1 Tablespoon chopped thyme

  1.  In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.  Add flour.
  2. Add milk, salt, mustard, Worcestershire, and red pepper.  Whisk until smooth and cook until thick and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low and add cheeses, stirring until melted.  Add pasta and remaining spices.  Stir to combine.
