Here's a cast iron spin on the traditional chocolate chip cookie:
Cast Iron Cookie
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Topping:
- marshmallows
- chocolate sauce
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In separate bowl, beat butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla until creamy.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture until combined. Add chocolate chips.
- Spread into 10 inch cast iron pan.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes. Remove from oven.
- Set oven to broil. Top cookie with marshmallows.
- Place cookie back in oven. WATCH carefully! Remove as soon as marshmallows are slightly browned.
- Drizzle with chocolate sauce.
